The oldest Christmas card Aged 160 Years

The world's oldest Christmas cards over the age of 160 years finally exhibited at Ironbridge Gorge Museum, Telford, Shropshire, England. According to the website of The Sun, Tuesday (13/12), the card was printed in 1843 was designed by a civil servant Sir Henry Cole.

Anna Flood, archivist at the British Postal Museum and Archive, said the card was one of the world's oldest Christmas cards are still in one piece. The card is also believed to have used Sir Henry Cole to send a Christmas message to his friends and the rest is sold.

"Prior to this point, there is no concrete record of each person who sends Christmas cards to one another. There is no record of the card also makes specific reference to Christmas," said Flood. "There's a New Year's card from the 18th century, but there is no specific Christmas card," he added.

It was also believed that the commercial Christmas card has not been released until about 20 years after the example of the cards are made. "Christmas Card not exist until 1982 when a company named Charles Goodall and Sons have really started selling Christmas cards like this," said Flood.
