[WOW] The uniqueness of Coyote Butte Formation rocks ARIZON

The Wave is a sandstone formation located in the United States near the border of Arizona and Utah on the slopes of the Coyote Buttes, in the wilderness including the Paria Canyon-Vermilion Cliffs, the Colorado Plateau. It is well known among climbers and photographers.

Waves are formed from the Jurassic Navajo Sandstone about 190 million years. Scientists who study The Wave says that old desert had turned into solid rock for centuries, calcifying in the vertical and horizontal layers. Erosion by wind and rain has created a spectacular landscape that exists today.

Soft sandstone of The Wave textured fragile, we need to walk carefully in order not to break the existing texture.

A good time to photograph The Wave middle of the day by taking a position right in the middle, but morning and afternoon were also able to produce a dramatic photo. After a rain storm a few years ago, various forms of the pool is formed which contains a variety of tadpoles and fairy shrimp. But the pool it's only can survive for several days.

Slightly to the west of The Wave are "Second Wave," which has dimmed but still interesting for most visitors and photographers. The Paria Canyon-Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness, which contains The Wave, is managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). Permission from the BLM is required to visit The Wave.

The BLM restricts access to Coyote Buttes Wilderness Area North only twenty permits per day. Ten of the permits that are available in advance by the on-line lottery conducted four months before the month the permit sought. Ten permission of the remainder provided by the lottery one day before the intended increase in the Paria Ranger Station on highway 89 west of Page, Arizona. Lottery for walk-in permits takes place at 9:00 in the morning. Spring and autumn are the most popular time of year to visit, but the popularity of The Wave is such that the opportunity to get permission well in advance or day-lottery before the lottery is much less than 50% from March to November. The Wave is very popular among European tourists, partly due to appear in Faszination Natur - Seven Seasons, [3] a German documentary film made in the 1990s.
