Elephant Fossils Excavated From Fixed 50 Years Ago
More than half a century after the ancient elephant fossils named Naumann, was found in the lake Nojiri, Shinano, Japan. A number of participants continues to dig for fossils of elephants that live in the age of glacial (ice) thousands of years ago.
The first time paleontologists digging in 1962, and Naumann elephant tooth fossil was found in the vicinity of Lake Nojiri in 1948 and 83 thousand other fossils. In the past 50 years since then, approximately 24 thousand people who are local nationals, aged between 5 and 78 years participated and participated in the search for the precious fossils.

Naumann elephant is a species of extinct animals that are extinct. These animals have lived in East Asia about 350 thousand to 20 thousand years ago. Elephant's name was given by the inventor, Heinrich Edmund Naumann who found the first fossils in Yokosuka, Japan.

Shigako, a woman aged 47, had been looking for fossils of Naumann Elephant in Lake Nojiri since he sat dibangku primary school. His father was a professor of geosciences. Shigako also pair up in the lake, he met with Takashi Kimura who is also participating in the excavation of fossils.
"The digging has become a regular family event. I hope this excavation will lead to our next destination." Takashi concluded.
