Mysterious Circle Seen from Space
Form of copper-colored formations in West Africa, dominated the portrait photos of astronauts on an International Space Station.
Andre Kuipers, Dutch astronaut photograph geological formation called Richat structure in Mauritania. The photo was taken when the space station across the Sahara, the Atlantic coast of West Africa. Kuiper photo shots showing the unique perspective of the satellite orbit, flying approximately 240 miles (386 kilometers) above Earth's surface.
Although some have argued that a similar form of a giant ring in the structure due to erosion of the various layers of rock, until now the origin of Richat structure remains mysterious.
For months, serving in the international space station, astronauts often observed near the Earth for the sake of science and the public. In the mission, many astronauts who remain active in social media such as Google or Twitter, and share amazing photos to the public.
Space agencies also use the photo shots of the astronauts to make students and space enthusiasts, more and more interested in geography, science of the planets, and space flight.
